How a job description should be?

'How a job description should be?' is a very important criteria in your recruitment process. In Simple words, You need a Right Job Description if you need right candidate in right Time. here I have listed out some important points on how a JD should and should not be,
  1. It Should not be big in size: Generally, JDs big in size will invite more junk / unsuitable profile since the most of the candidates will apply without going through the JDs in full or they will apply just seeing the Title alone.
  2. It should give all the essentials very clearly and shortly if possible in bullet points.
  3. Key sills in any tools or software should be highlighted.
  4. Specific constraints like Years of experience, Salary range, education and any additional qualification should be highlighted separately. Giving such a details will save you lot of time by avoiding the profiles out of the range.
  5. Years of experience should be given in a range. Sometimes a narrow range of experience will reduce the candidate response very much. so should be cautious in choosing the range.
  6. Essentials and added advantages should be clearly defined.
  7. Provide Contact phone no of recruiter only for top management openings if required. Particularly in mass recruiting it will cause unnecessary hindrance or waste of time.
So my point here is, Just sending a little more time in preparing your JD, Save a lot of time in hitting the right Candidates. Wish you A Happy Hiring from Armaven Consultancy P Limited.

Need to change the job only for salary ?

Somehow you have found it out one fine day either through your colleagues or through internet that your salary is less than the industries’ average for your experience and expertise. Now you have a new decision to take on switching your job.

While everything is cool about your current employment except that your current salary is less that the industry average for your position and qualification, is it important to change the job now?

This is very important decision that you can’t just shrug it off and there are several factors you need to consider for making it.

I listed out some important points to be considered here,

1. How much is the difference. If it is very less you don’t have to.
2. will changing the job affect the studies of children
3. If changed, need to stay away from family?
4.possible work place politics.
5.chances of having bad boss
6.getting acquaintance with new friends
and a lot more.

Still I advice there is nothing wrong to give a try, while changing job is so easy now a days. Just update or create your profile in leading portals (e.g- www.naukri.com, www.monsterindia.com) and just wait.

If you get a big fish, it is worth to take the risk, right?

Is It wrong to take colleagues work contributions in to yours in your profile ?

Now a days, a lot of people are adding their colleagues work contributions also in to theirs even if they come to know a few words about the work of their colleagues. I will never say this is correct, but i feel at least they should obey certain basic points as follows in doing so or otherwise they will regret later in the interview or during the course of their new job. If you are the one doing that,

1. You should know or otherwise you should learn the core theme of such work Contribution he /she is adding, If your intention is only passing through the Interviews successfully.
2. and certainly you should make yourself competent enough to do such a work if assigned or remove that work from your profile. Projecting yourself more competent that you actually are will put you in to trouble later when you are responsible for handling things more than you actually can do.
3. Also Should learn any essential subjects or key skills related to the work to a comfortable basic level at least.
4. If you feel that this will affects your Confidence in Interview pl remove such thing from your profile and proceed clean.

My message to the candidates is “be honest to yourself and work hard which will increase your capabilities and bring success to hands.”

One simple step to make your Job Interview easy !

Just imagine yourself as the interviewer for few minutes, and think deeper in to what for you need this position and what short of person will fit exactly like a boss. This will definitely give you the answers for the question ‘what will be expected from you in the interview?’ and will give enough confidence to face the interview successfully.
